What’s Good: Whiff Out manages to get rid of the negative ammonia smell that comes from cigar butts sitting around in ashtrays. A pleasing smell comes from the white granules that lasts several hours while absorbing the unpleasant ashtray scents. Very little Whiff out goes a very long way, and a small six ounce jar can last for some time. In the course of testing this product I put some into several ashtrays at home multiple times and in every ashtray at the considerably large lounge at Stogies World Class Cigars, and I still have almost a full six ounce jar. Considering how little Whiff Out is required, the $10.00 price for a six ounce jar makes this a phenomenal value. This stuff is great in travel ashtrays or in the car, and a pinch or so under the front seats of your car will make the car smell great while removing that stale French fry smell.
What’s Bad: The fresh aroma that comes from the granules is quite strong, and can interfere with the flavor of a cigar, since a large part of taste comes from sense of smell. While not harmful if it gets on the end of your cigar, it will smoke a lot more and have a soapy flavor. For these reasons, it is best to use Whiff Out after your smoking sessions is over.

Overall: I’m always dubious of air fresheners and odor eaters. Honestly, once I gave Whiff Out a try, I was wonderfully surprised by how well it worked. I still have a mostly full six ounce jar after using it on almost forty ashtrays. For the price, few products work as well with as much value. Just to test how well it works I didn’t empty my stinky ashtray for several days, then brought it inside the house after using some Whiff Out, and was surprised that my fiancé never noticed the smell despite being in the house for two hours. (Which was lucky for me.) Personally, I will probably use my Whiff Out whenever I host a party. I like the cost, the size and the fresh smell. The only bad thing is I can’t use it while reviewing cigars for this site since it’s scent does mildly effect the cigar’s flavor. All in all, this is a great product that I highly recommend trying.
